One assignment I recently completed was analyzing the design of an in-person experience. We had to individually randomly generate a persona that was different from us, and then figure out how to make the experience accommodate that persona’s needs. I chose to look back on my two visits to Buc-ee’s. The signage on the periphery of the store is great, as every wall is plastered with specific labels, but the middle is a complete free-for-all. A fix I came up with was adding labels to the endcaps of the aisles. The store encourages you to wander around and find things for yourself, but that might just not do for some people short on time. Overall, I had a lot of fun with this task! I had to try hard to think of a flaw to work on.
