These two characters are the protagonist and deuteragonist of my story, James and Sara. They’re superheroes in love who go by the names Pan Man and Plasmatic. In terms of artistic progress, this image means so much. For a very long time, I was addicted to creating pieces of art that were traced over reference pose bases that I found on Pinterest or elsewhere. I thought the idea of drawing my own anatomy or poses was “daunting,” and I never gave it a real attempt because I’m always afraid of failure. You’ll also notice that there’s pretty much zero shading on the old ones. All I did was trace the poses, add my own details, and spam the bucket tool. Now that I’ve actually moved on to learning some anatomy and proportions, seeing how far their designs have come is genuinely so gratifying. Of course there’s still minor flaws, but art improvement is a journey.

This is “The Splendor of the Hollow Eclipse.” It depicts the awakening of James’ powerful transformation that ultimately helps him win the final battle. Sara was just gravely injured by the main villain Director, and he believes her to be dead. These stomach-clutching emotions awaken a hidden power inside of him that’s laid dormant for a long time.

This one is a recreation of the “Easy” musical sequence from the adult animated musical Hazbin Hotel. James and Sara replace the characters of Vaggie and Charlie Morningstar respectively. I really do love this one. In the original show, the dance they’re doing on-screen is more of a metaphor, if you catch my drift. What you’re seeing is a filter pulled down in front of what’s really going on. Two people madly in love being lost in a pink haze as bedsheets become formal dance attire.
